Arab News –  The Kingdom-led coalition has destroyed a Scud missile carrier near the Yemeni-Saudi border, Al Arabiya News Channel reported on Sunday.
The carrier, belonging to Iran-backed Houthi militia and its ally deposed Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh’s forces, was destroyed by the coalition after studying their movements, the channel said.
It said the carrier was heading toward the Kingdom but did not specify where.
Meanwhile, Yemeni Popular Resistance forces and those loyal to the internationally recognized President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi made advances in Sirwah west of Maarib city after heavy clashes with Houthi and Saleh militias.
Marib is located about 120 km east of Sanaa.
Armed forces supporting border patrol guards along the border in Jazan have blocked a number of infiltration attempts by the rebels into Saudi territory last week.
According to military sources, hostile groups suffered a major defeat at the hands of Saudi forces and border patrol guards.
“The failed attempt resulted in the death of a large number of rebels and infiltrators, while others surrendered and handed themselves in,” said the source.
In a related context, second line mujahideen patrols also continued their efforts along the border, setting up ambushes to thwart smugglers and infiltration attempts.
