Saudi Gazette – A number of private establishments and employers have uploaded over 2,200 resumes of their workers on the ‘Kawadir Labor’ portal that the Ministry of Labor and Social Development launched recently as they plan to transfer their services to other employers.
The move allows companies to recruit and avail of high-skilled expat workers whose services are no longer needed by their original employers.
According to the latest statistics released by the ministry, workers’ CVs from more than 700 establishments have been requested by potential employers. The portal also opens new avenues for those with expired residence or work permits to seek employment.
It also allows those who do not get their residence permits within three months of their arrival to look for other sponsors.
The goal of the portal is to limit overseas recruitment by allowing prospective employers to hire resident expat workers whose sponsors want to terminate their contracts and transfer their services.
The ministry stressed that the portal only serves establishments in green zone and above in the Nitaqat program.
It will help establishments with low Saudization let go their expat workers on their request and hire Saudi nationals instead to move up to a better zone.
Employers need to obtain approval from their expat workers before posting their work information on the portal.
