Arab News –  A total of 47,711 trainees have enrolled for virtual classes in 49 technical colleges and industrial high school institutes since 2014, the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) disclosed here Sunday.
According to Abdullah Al-Dakhil, head of the e-training at TVTC, training methods based on modern technology and global network have been adopted for the delivery of information to the trainees.
They also use social media and other modern technologies that help in implementing interactive training programs anywhere and anytime, which contributes to the provision of technical training. The official was referring to the Shoura Council’s call for expansion of self-education and distance education programs.
Al-Dakhil said that TVTC has implemented such training since 2014, when 292 virtual training courses were introduced. He said the number of trainees reached 9,901.
“In 2015, there were 1,191 virtual training with training hours of 4,255 attended by 40,631 trainees in 49 institutions across the country. The last quarter of this year has seen 47,711 enrollments.”
He said that TVTC has deployed in this area the best international experience to take advantage of advanced digital technology from IT majors like Microsoft, Cisco, Oracle, Huawei, SAP, Adobe, Pearson VUE, my resume Port, WTC, through academies and international centers tests.
He said the organization began the application of e-learning as a pilot project in Buraidah College in 2001 as the first destination institution that carried out this project.
