Saudi Gazette – The Saudi Association for Parents of People with Disabilities organized a fun day for children with disabilities and their families at Attallah amusement park as part of celebrations to commemorate International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD).
The day was patronized by Princess Latifa Bint Thunian Bin Mohammed Al-Saud, the chairwoman of the Saudi Association for Parents of People with Disabilities, and a large number of disabled children with their families. Children and their families were treated to a cheerful clown show, face painting, stand-up comedy show, cultural shows, music and other various contests.
Princess Latifa praised the government’s efforts to provide support to disabled children.
“Our motivation tonight is to see the children smile and have fun and be happy together with their families and friends,” she said.
She also said there had been progress in giving equal opportunities to people with disabilities, and that they must be able to fulfill their role in society and participate on an equal basis.
The princess also honored private companies and local media for their support and cooperation in making the day a success.
