Arab News – The Ministry of Social Affairs has embarked on implementing a a royal order for the release from mortgages of vehicles granted to disabled persons in accordance with specified and defined calibers, and to complete all procedures linked with these vehicles through the traffic directorates across the Kingdom, taking into consideration the best interests of the beneficiaries.
Undersecretary in the Ministry of Social Affairs for family and social welfare Abdullah Al-Muaiqeel said the approval of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman involved releasing mortgages of 6,300 vehicles.
“The previous regulations stipulated not selling the vehicle for five years,” said the undersecretary. Al-Muaiqeel stressed the fact that the ministry knew of the suffering of some of the families benefiting from vehicle subsidies as a result of the death of the beneficiary for instance, or that the vehicle is not suitable to use or for any other reason.
“Therefore, the ministry submitted requests to the Royal Court to release mortgages so that the beneficiaries can take necessary actions concerning the vehicles,” he added.
