Saudi Gazette – A number of school bus drivers went on strike in Jazan in protest over a three-month delay in their salaries from the contracting company. An official spokesman of Jazan Education Ministry said that the ministry’s role was to supervise the services provided to male and female students. He said the contracting company was to blame for delaying the salaries for months.
A number of drivers said they suffered daily due to the delay as they have no other source of income. They said that they get SR3,000 a month and sometimes have to pay for gas from their own pocket. The drivers called for the responsible authorities to intervene to put an end to the problem and force the contracting company to pay.
