Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski says the German champions need three new players for the new Bundesliga season.
The Poland international was quoted by Sport Bild on Wednesday as saying that the club will need a new wide attacking player even if Leroy Sane is signed from Manchester City.
In comments which followed 2-0 Saturday’s Super Cup defeat to Borussia Dortmund, Lewandowski said he would also like to see the club also sign a defensive midfielder or a central attacking midfielder.
“We have lost three players in attack in Frank Ribery, Arjen Robben and James (Rodriguez) and so far have no new signings there,” he said.
Bayern’s newcomers so far are midfielder Lucas Hernandez from Atletico Madrid, defender Benjamin Pavard from VfB Stuttgart and forward Fiete Arp from SV Hamburg.
Bayern are interested in Germany international Sane and further signings could follow before the September 2 Bundesliga transfer deadline.
The new Bundesliga season begins on Friday August 16 when Bayern greet Hertha Berlin.
