Saudi Gazette – Police and anti-drug officials foiled an attempt to smuggle 20,000 amphetamine pills into the Kingdom. Tabuk Police reported it tracked down and foiled a smuggling attempt that was going to take place at the Saudi-Jordanian border. Police tracked down a smuggler approaching the border area with the Kingdom. When police ordered the smuggler to stop, he refused to comply and drove his vehicle into a desert area and escaped. Police searched the area and found a bag of 20,000 amphetamine pills dumped in the desert. The smuggler had dumped it before he escaped. The case is still under investigation and efforts are under way to arrest the smuggler.
