Arab News – Criminal investigation and police teams in Qassim have seized large quantities of firearms and live ammunition intended for sale.
According to police spokesman Maj. Badr Alsuhaibani, the seized articles were eight rifles, 40 pistols, 13,000 rounds of live ammunition, 35 safes and storage for ammunition, and a special bag with equipment for maintenance of these weapons. Also seized was SR5,205.
Alsuhaibani said in a statement that law enforcement agencies monitored the site in Buraidah and arrested a 34-year-old man who admitted to taking part in these activities.
Meanwhile, the Special Criminal Court in Riyadh on Thursday convicted a citizen of disturbing public order for his involvement in a number of demonstrations to demand the release of detainees held on security charges. The court sentenced the man to five years in prison, in addition to closure of his accounts on social media, and a five-year travel ban after completion of his prison sentence.
